Features:    1976 hull Kittiwake on a trailer. I've grown too old to own this lovely ship now. Someone younger needs to give her TLC and a good scrubbing. I have done custom steelwork: Stern rail, stanchions, bow pulpit, mast tabernacle, companionway steps, boarding ladder and lifelines. 3/4 inch stainless. Custom cockpit Bimini and Custom cushions in cabin. Have uninstalled galley stove, cockpit bilge pump, and lots of other goodies. Has been in the water on Chesapeake bay for one year, and in Old Hickory Lake for three years and Percy Priest lake for three years. I purchased a new trailer for her which is where she sits now. I've got just under twelve thousand dollars invested in her over the years. Make me an offer. She needs someone to look after her with love. I'm too old anymore.

Location:    Lake Norman sailing Club, Denver, NC
Features:    A Kittiwake, named PATRIOT, which is moored at the Lake Norman Sailing Club in Denver, NC. (just northwest of Charlotte, NC) This is a nice boat with roller reefing on the jib, a 4 hp Evinrude in the well, and a solar-connected bilge pump. I have owned this boat for ten years, have just turned seventy years of age, and can no longer comfortably make the long commute to the club. The Patriot has always been used in fresh water as far as I have learned. She has a blue hull, and the teak wood is unfinished. The vessel came with the pulpit and lifelines not attached, but I have them in storage. I am asking $6800. The boat of course is trailerable, but I do not have a trailer. I do have pictures online on Craig’s List. Submitted 11/12/09.

Features:    UNDER RESTORATION! I’ll be done with her around the end of February (depending on weather) and will consider selling both as is, or once completely restored (& better than original), with or without a suitable trailer which currently needs some modifications (set up for powerboats, dual axle and full keel Sailing vessel will require some welding/pads, etc.) The boat needs “everything” refinished and has been sitting in Fresh Water for the last 7 years (at least). She’s solid and sound with no damage and 2 immaculate sails from Johnson. Running rigging needs replaced and lots of paint/varnish & refinishing are all that’s required. Been doing this for 4+ decades so she’ll come “from the rough” to diamond in no time flat. I can supply pictures both as is, and as the process of restoration begins and continues, of both the vessel and trailer to any interested party. Right now my price would be “best offer” and can email pictures to anyone interested? Submitted 1/23/10.

I am looking at purchasing one (a Kittiwake). Do you have a $$ amount I should pay for this boat?

Response:     I am sorry but I am in no position to say what you should pay for a boat that I haven't even seen. Hire a competent marine surveyor. He can examine the boat and give you a much better estimate of what it is worth, it's overall condition and any things that need attention.

I'm looking for a Kittiwake in the Florida area. If you know of any for sale down here please let me know... or any that may have trailers in the southeast. Thank you. John
ps... Had one in the panhandle 10 years ago and sold it for a larger boat.    Tgull23@aol.com
